We are very pleased to share that Birth, a collaborative silverwork developed in 2025, has been recognised in the Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council’s 2025/26 Competition.

Yuan (Yating) Xie received Silver in Silversmithing (Junior), and Chongshan Feng was awarded Bronze in Chasing (Junior).

This recognition is a meaningful encouragement for our ongoing practice.

Secondary Function was a group exhibition organised by AlsoLike Gallery, London, as part of London Design Festival 2025. The exhibition examined expanded notions of function beyond utility, positioning material processes and bodily interaction as sites of meaning-making across contemporary craft practices.

Yuan (Yating) Xie was part of the curatorial team, and Tajo Studio was invited to participate as an academic supporter, in collaboration with Silversmithing and Jewellery Design at the Glasgow School of Art.

Birth (2025), a collaborative silverwork by Tajo Studio (Yuan (Yating) Xie and Chongshan Feng), was presented in the Square Mile Summer Exhibition at Crane Court Gallery, London, from 31 July to 28 August 2025.

The exhibition brought together a wide range of contemporary British and international artists.

A group of three new works (2024-2025) by Tajo Studio was presented in Unanchored Crafting at Alsolike gallery, London, during London Craft Week 2025.

Framed around craft as a site of translation across cultural contexts, the exhibition was developed in collaboration with the Jewellery & Metal Studio at Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, bringing together international artists working across a range of material processes.
